About Designated Evacuation Shelters

Based on the Disaster Countermeasures Basic Act, “Designated Evacuation Shelters” are established as places of refuge when a disaster has made one's home inhabitable. Evacuation shelter locations are designated from among Kawasaki city elementary and junior high schools.

Be sure to check the nearest “Designated Evacuation Shelters” on the Kawasaki City Disaster Prevention Map.

About Designated Emergency Evacuation Shelters

Based on the Disaster Countermeasures Basic Act, “Designated Emergency Evacuation Shelters” are established to serve as temporary locations to escape from imminent danger caused by for a variety of disasters (flooding, landslide/debris flow or landfall, storm surge, earthquake, tsunami, large-scale fire, rainfall inundation, volcanic eruption, etc.). “Designated emergency evacuation shelters” are designated from among Kawasaki city elementary and junior high schools and public evacuation sites.

*Please note that some facilities have limited evacuation areas depending on the type of disaster.
