The validity period of the pediatric medical care card is as follows
(1) Children aged 0 to 3rd grade of elementary school: Until the end of the school year (March 31) of the 3rd grade of elementary school
(2) Children from 4th grade of elementary school to 3rd grade of junior high school: Until August 31 of the following year
(until the end of the school year (March 31) for 3rd grade junior high school students)
For children in 4th grade of elementary school and above, a new medical care card will be sent to the child's address at the end of the month in which the card expires (e.g., late August for those who have a medical care card valid until August 31) after the applicant's (guardian's) income is assessed and a decision is made as to whether or not partial payment will be required.
If you have a guardian whose income is higher than your income listed on your medical care card, we may ask you to change your applicant in advance. In such cases, we will notify you in advance.
